I'm wearing pink to raise awareness and support for those impacted by breast cancer. I've lost family members to cancer, and therefore understand the life-saving nature of breast cancer research, awareness and testing. It is also important to understand that the breast cancer death rate for Black women is 40% higher than white women, despite having historically lower rates of diagnoses. I hope that my participation in RMWP helps more people become aware of these disparities, and promote efforts to improve early diagnosis screenings and quality treatment options in marginalized communities. By raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, I'm helping to save more lives from breast cancer. ACS conducts and funds vital research on the fight against cancer, and I'm happy to lend a hand in supporting those efforts. I'm proud to support ACS in their efforts to address racial disparities in cancer mortality through their community research grants.
